Actually, if I am to go with what I learned in my college French class (in particular the day devoted to learning the familiar slang and swear words we might be likely to hear if we ever were really USING French instead of studying it in school). I do believe that the "fbosf" actually translates into a slightly less genteel turn of phrase than "We don't care," although the point is similar. I believe that it would more accurately translate to (while keeping it still somewhat sfw): "Facebook can go <*ahem*> itself..."

I could be wrong, though, as my French is indeed quite rusty (even more so in written from than aural/oral translation.) However, I must say, the latter way seems a bit more ...um ... well, "French" when you think about it. Isn't that why we occasionally excuse such vulgarities by prefacing or following it with the expression, "Pardon my French..."?

Haha, just kidding. It's just amazing that this hoax has really been taken this far. I have always believed that these "scam artists" are more than just that. I believe this is the work of people who are in power, that want us to ignore the real important issues, and instead be afraid and scared for our lives. I know it sounds kind of conspirocy theory-ish, but seriously. Like you said, Americans are easily fooled. And anyone who can make money off of a fool, will. Keeping us distracted with things over the centuries has allowed many crimes to go unpunished. The entertainment industry, the sporting industry, the missing little white girls all around the country, the end of the world theories, the nationalism, the mega-natural disaster theories - all just distractions from the real issues, keeping us asleep, quiet, lethargic and ultimately more doomed than any 2012 disaster ever predicted.
